Anyone seen these furlers before

I got a couple of furlers in on a sail package deal and no zip about these. They  roll on the stay and not a tube. Or maybe the furler cable is separate  from the headstay. Can anyone tell me anything about these ? I've never been on a boat with a furler, the drum free wheels I thought the drum was spring loaded. If you have to pull the furler line to wrap the sail around the cable, I think it be easier to use hanks. The jibaway is made in CA, but when I googled the company nothing came up.
