Wanted: stanchions

Has anyone upgraded or gotten rid of their original stanchions and have them lying around the garage?  I'm looking for a cheaper alternative to brand new "gated" stanchions and thinking about getting an "add-on" gate.

Here's a pic of mine. They are 24" tall and have a welded loop at the top. I'm assuming they are original.

how many do you need? there are some consignment shops I know of who sometimes have a ship-set or two on hand.

actually Newport Nautical has something very like my split stern rail. They are new parts that appear to have been left-over from an unfinished boat. one side includes a fitting to hang a life ring. it looks like the following:
