My baby sitting at rest at the Niantic Bay Yacht Club.

I raced her a few times this summer in the staggered start Sunday races.  Initially my rating was textbook - 261 and we finished 1st a number of times.  In fact, a couple times we were so far ahead we finished with time to order a pizza before the next boat crossed.  (exaggerating, but it was a huge lead).  They changed my rating - a lot.

Full disclosure - At the helm I had a veteran ocean racer with a decade of racing on a J40 in Florida.  He is teaching me how to race.  We have old sails, no traveler, no self tailing winches, a Crosby rigged mainsheet, no depth or speed gauges and we still kicked ass.  Had the rails in the water several times.
