I have just recently completed some interior painting of Sirocco and her cabin sole needs some work but I don't want to do it right now because the heat finally broke in Oklahoma and it's sailing season.

I want to buy a faux oriental rug or grass matt that I can lay on the cabin floor but I don't know the dimensions of that interior space.

Does anyone have the measurement for that?

thanks.

Jon, I can get the measurements for you after work tonight.

In the meantime, if it's any help,
measuring off the floorplan of the original drawing
from the Manual, pg147......  it's basically 2' X 5'.
(Not including the V-berth 'sole' - step up - and add 2' more.)
With possibly a little extra room for the fringe.

But, what is the actual measure?  .............

In my travels I've IDed a thin  ANTISKID vinyl underlay for carpet (on hard surfaces)
 called BlueGrip - $1.29sqft. Haven't tried it.

On Ariel 414, the dimensions are (qualified with I don't know if the sole is original or how much variation between boats):

Forward sole:
Length       : 29"    (from base of porta-potti deck to bulkhead)
  Fwd Width : 13.5"
Aft Width   : 26"    (widest section)

Cabin sole:
Length            : 63"     (from fwd end to base of trim at companionway)
  Fwd Width      : 16.5"
  Aft Width        : 18.75"
  Widest section: 22.5"

This is the actual decking, there are a few inches of fiberglass on each side before the base of the seats.

Thanks fellas, I appreciate it.    Gonna look for a small rug for that space until it cools a bit.   My cabin sole can stand a refinishing but it's really ratty around the edges due to old wood rot.   Sometimes I wish I had been a cabinet maker instead of being so pretty....lol
