bottom paint

I need some advice on the type or brand of bottom paint I should use. My boat will be left in the water and it will be located in fresh water in North Alabama. I would like a budget priced paint. Thanks for the advice.

Practical Sailor has published several tests the past year or so on bottom paints.  Their tests indicate those that are better in northern or southern waters and which last the longest.

There are bunches of folks there who keep their boats in fresh water, and who might be able to give you some idea about their experiences with the different paints available.
