Humble

Hello all,
My name is Gary, from Rainier,Or. . I have now taken over the restoration of hull #421 the "Flying cloud". Her name has  been changed to "Humble", a fitting name I believe.:)
The first areas of attention will be the rudder, follwed by reinfocing the strongback beam.
The galley has been removed as well as some cabinetry and the head. The interior work will happen this winter,as I hope to take care of the important items while the weather is pleasant.

I was pleased to hear of this forum, and look forward to learning alot!

Welcome, HUMBLE A441 !
Believe you now own one of the youngest Ariels around.

Good luck on your refurbishment.

Thought a few quotes from the famous might be useful...
It is strange that HUMBLE is so much a larger word than its opposite.
It's often seen in its cloth of moral philosophy....

"I think any spiritual experience that's worthwhile is not about ego
and it will humble you in some way.
And also, a Zen monk once said to me,
'If you're not laughing, then you're not getting it.'"   David O Russell

Larry Hagman had this to say. "Well I think they broke the mold
when they made me and being humble is one of my great assets."

And if any of this can be seen as a metaphor for describing our
beautiful little Alberg ships, here's a favorite:
"I think I can be pretty special.  I think I can impact a lot in the NBA,
especially with my shooting ability and athleticism
and just being a humble person."   Ben McLemore

Looking forward to some great Humble photos !

Hi Gary! Congrats!!! :) How interesting, that your boat and mine (#422) once sat next to each other some 47(ish?) years ago on the factory floor, and yet now they are separated by nearly the breadth of our great Nation. You have gotten yourself an excellent example of an Alberg classic, there - you'll enjoy her! :D

Ebb - I absolutely love this quote - many thanks for passing it on!

Thanks for the welcome fellas.

Kurt, the first thing I noticed around here was your #422. They probably shared some polyester!

I apologize for lack of pics. The kids get back tomorrow to help with that.
