This is my first look at a Pearson 26.  It is on offer in Puget Sound for $7500.  Any guidance with regard to fair market value and what specific problems ought to be checked before purchase would be appreciated.

I've had an Islander 24 in San Francisco and regularly used a friend's 30 footer out of Oxnard.  With that background I think I'm buying a good day cruiser that can easily handle overnight (or longer) junkets to the San Juans and other points of interest on the Sound.

Will this boat do that and what is "fair market value?"

Three things:  condition, condition, condition :D   And, a fourth might be geographic location.

Welcome.

Bill nailed it. There is a Pearson Ariel 26 for sale here for $4000. I'm guessing it would take at least $10,000 and countless personal manhours/maybe years (time lost aboard) to make it 1/2 decent. Of course, a survey is essential prior to releasing the $. Here are some Pearson 26s for comparison:

You can put your boat's specifics in Boats For Sale to get closer comparison.
