I started this because the other delamination issues deal with the deck.

The boat I just purchased I noticed a little spring in the cockpit, so crawling head first into a locker i seen bracing, half assed one by stuff.

My question is how to fix, I seen from the under side and another post the deck seems supported by longitudinal bracing, or scrap the fix and figue a way to mount a larger fuel tank there and act as a support, kinda a two-fer.

And so it begins... http://pearsonariel.org/discussion/showpost.php?p=12163&postcount=5
:D

Unsolicited advice: install a cockpit hatch - especially with an inboard. The amount of time you'll be spending inside there will make it very worth your while.

The lockers under the lids on 338 have a "one by one" matted across between the seat scuppers. to act as a stiffner for the front.

The cockpit deck has plywood strip stiffners matted inplace underneath.
A vertical cutout plywood bridge was added under the cockpit about midway to stiffen it.  It braced against the hull.  If that is gone it should be replaced.

FWIW, here's a shot of the underside of my cockpit. No complaints about sturdiness here....

Oh yes Mbd, I tell already it's a love hate relationship, the mold from yesterdays visit (3-29 weds) left me sleepless all night, gotta nice sinus infection going on. Against the wishes of siad sinuses I ventured down today to open the hatches and everything tring to air it out. Took some pictures also. Here is the halfassed support i was refering to.
