I haven't had a chance to get to them yet, got hit with a bunch of frozen water lines in the house, and my wife broke the truck, so been busy :)

Still have the old sails, and a few other things, opening ports, the old winches and some of the deck hardware. Most is in a shed out back, supposed to hit 45 today, I'll see if I can inventory what I have.

I may not have had it set for sharing.   See if I can get it uploaded here.

Reason I showed up here today was to update photos, so current link to at least a couple here is:  https://photos.google.com/photo/AF1QipOvymEpX_N35wkIMnbdlk_LTn-zEWdlDsqhj33O

Odd thing about this is that while I had brand new never unwrapped sails up for sale, I have never heard a word. I do have nice new shade awnings now.

Finally unpacked the 'junk' boxes, pics of sails on photobucket at:

 http://s1366.photobucket.com/user/wiggzout/library/?sort=3&page=1

'storm' jib, 15ft luff, 11 on leach, 7 on the foot, 22 inch stinger. D (diagonal at 90 degrees on luff to clew) is 5ft
 jib 27.75 on luff, 24.25 in leach, 0.5 foot. D is 9ft.
 jib 31.5 luff, 31.16 leach, 16.8 foot, D is 15.8
 jib 30.5 luff, 30.4 leach, 17 foot, D is 16.1
Main, didn't measure, no reef points was on roller boom.
Main cover, red very slightly faded on to, other wise excellent condition.

All jibs have bronze piston hanks, and wire rope in luff, main has flat track slides.

All sails in very good condition, only thing that keeps me from saying excellent is a few small stains.
   Any reasonable offer.
Shipping could be arranged, but prefer pick up either by purchaser or your agent at my house, 3.5 miles from hardy dam in Michigan. (white cloud address, but 10 miles from White cloud)

Sadly it has been scrapped, I was willing to give her away but even free nobody wanted to get her, scrapper offered $1200 so after putting him off as long as possible, I ended up taking the offer.
Strangely, he ended up NOT taking the flatbed it was on.

I'm in Kentwood Michigan a suburb of Grand Rapids.

I have the mast and boom for Ariel 198 for sale, was taken down and set in back yard. Already chased one less than good neighbor halfway down the block when he tried to snag the boom. Would like to get $200/best for the set.

Also have sails, Main, jib, 130 and a non-related sail that would work as a 150, as I remember it is a foot shorter on the hoist than the standard jib, but much longer on the foot.
Make offers, will try to get pictures together, but accidentally packed my camera.

 Prefer pick-up.

Also have most hardware from the boat, let me know what you need and I'll try to get pics of them.

Sorry for delay in posting, been very busy and dealing with death in family, and a close relative with serious illness.

As far as 198, I have a solid offer from a scrapper of $1200 in two weeks for the hull and trailer,  so unless something else happens, I'll be posting sails and rigging and other equipment at a later date.

At present I can't seem to locate my camera, but will try to borrow one and get more recent pics.  basically, haven't done much since the first pics were posted other than remove the counter and icebox, and correctly fill the original through hulls for the head.

I messed up on the trailer length somehow, it's 20 foot overall, not 26, no idea where the 26 came in. (edited that post)  The hitch is just ahead of the bow, and the trailer extends to just aft of the rudder with the stern extending roughly 4 feet beyond.
The deck boards on the trailer are old and could use replacement, but the cradle is wide enough that if the boards weren't there it would sit on the frame rails.
My plan was to weld jack stands to the trailer corners, remove the old cradle and trailer deck, then weld two more stands in the center for use as a dedicated boat trailer.

Edited because I had noscript running, and it always puts all the text into one big hard to read lump.

Technical / Illusion of space

Most are acrylic, they're available with plain square edges, bevels, and some with fancier edges. Most are self stick with the adhesive applied directly to the mirror backs, other types have a thin foam pad to cover minor irregularities.    http://www.homedepot.com/buy/decor/bath-mirrors/mirredge-48-in-beveled-acrylic-mirror-strips-2-pack-15248.html   Not recommending Home Depot for them, (I take all steps possible to void shopping there) just the first link I found.

Technical / Gaining headroom by lowering floor
September 28, 2012, 12:35:55 PM
The sole directly below the hatch was like a springboard, for about 2 feet back. After trying to figure out ways to fix it without removing it, I decided I had to cut it out.  I found that the sole was originally cut to shape, then thickened resin was globbed on in the general are it would fit and the sole was placed in position. Afterwards a layer of cloth and resin was placed over it. I wouldn't exactly call it tabbing, but that's the only tabbing that was in it. In my case there was very little globbing at the rear.   As far as I can tell, the globbing is simply resin with snap line chalk mixed in.     If sole is bad or loose and needs repair, it's worth lowering it as you desire, but if it's in good shape it's not worth the effort to remove it.

Sorry, but the only vehicle I have is an old explorer sport that hasn't been driven in about a year. Don't think it would tow the Ariel any distance

I haven't had time to work on 198 for a while because of marital strife and several move out/back in episodes that I'm getting kind of tired of.  Putting it here in hopes someone is interested.

Clean title and registered till 2014.    She does need work, I removed the icebox and counter so interior is pretty bare, just benches and temporary counter installed and has several soft spots on deck.
Good sails and rig.
The trailer she sits on is a 20ft flatbed with two 3500lb axles, electric brakes on front axle. Tires hold air but are old. It takes regular 6 bolt wheels (6 bolt chevy pattern I believe) $1200 gets trailer too.
If you're local and don't want the trailer, we can discuss a price without it, simply pay the $1200, bring the trailer back within a week, and I'll give you back the difference.
She has been up for sale several times for $1200 complete with the trailer she sits on.  I've had a few people call and ask but the only serious offer I had was $600 if I keep trailer and rig,  and allow them to cut her up on site, I prefer not to go with that one.
Edited to hopefully correct the format, spelling errors and trailer length.
