Very cool This is exactly how I was going to approach it. I am replacing all extrior wood with teak and thought this same idea would look good and provide a great traveler platform. Glad to hear it has  worked out well - Thanks Scott 269

Technical / jib and genoa tracks
March 25, 2002, 08:20:46 AM
Thanks everyone for all the help it really is invaluable.  I also have a flasher sail ( a flat cut spinnaker) I assume this can also run off of a long track. Will these be at the back of the track and will you use the stock winches etc.??  Also on refinishing my rudder- I have heard conflicting reports on how to do this. Should I epoxy over or do I need to leave spaces for expansion etc..
 Thanks - scott

Technical / Jib and genoa tracks??
March 24, 2002, 05:51:08 PM
Is it possible to install one large track to accomadate a jib and a genoa. ?  Does anyone have exact locations for this hardware ?
I currently have a 150 genoa and plan on getting a class size jib. Also has anyone added a second forestay to accomadate a storm jib? If so how and what do you attach it to on the deck?/  I have roller furling and a smaller jib set would be nice .  thanks scott 269

I am also interested in your yawl idea. Where will you mount the mast?  Let me know your ideas - sounds cool - I already have a mast holdind up my wind sock in the front yard I scavenged it off an abadandoned boat washed up on the beach,  what are your plans for holding it up solid mount , stays and to where?

Technical / removing seacocks
March 17, 2002, 08:39:39 AM
I need to remove the seacock that is no longer used for the head. It has been plugged after previous owner installed holding tank. It appears to be a threaded connection. I was going to try a chunk of steel from the outside with a pipe wrench. Am I on the right track?  Any tips - thanks Scott 269

Technical / interior painting questions
March 13, 2002, 09:01:41 AM
I am about to begin painting my interior. I hope to spray it as this will allow acess to all the little nooks and crannys. Is it neccessary to prime or undercoat first ,I was planning on using pettit easypoxy. Ihave used this in the past with good results. They also make a interior paint called dura-white (it is water base) does anyone have experience with this?  Any tips would be appreciated, thinning ratios etc.  thanks scott - 269
