1963 Pearson Ariel. A Classic Carl Alberg design. Newer red Algrip paint on hull. Decks redone. Atomic 4, Garmin depth sounding and gps, One main and 4 head sails. Thick fiberglass due to vintage. Guess the new owner never showed up, I seen #97 out last saturday below Havre de Grace. Last spring I seen it on CL for $1500. Talk about a gut check.

As an update:

This girl has been hauled and I fear is indanger of becoming a fence boat :eek: , she was pulled as the Water Steet Marina in Havre de Grace, and has been on the hard since the spring at least.

I know it's been a while since I have posted or even been on for that matter, but #97 is for sale, we have our eye on a C&C 35.

They sure do look pretty in red, from the pictures I'd venture a guess to say that it is the same color #97 wears (awlgrip Claret Red). Seasons nearly over her in the Cheaseapeake too, had some great sailing last weekend, more to come this weekend if all goes as planned.

It occurs to me that the same prototype above, with minimal modifications, could also serve as an out-of-the-way cockpit end table, if you will. Cocktails on the side, and save the valuable cockpit real estate for feet and knees. Makes more sense for the Ariels than our voluminous counterparts...

Thank you, those look like they may be the ticket. just the 1 inch of coaming doesnt ride well on the butt bone.

have you sat on top of the J cushions, I like steering while sitting ontop of the coaming, been tring to figure a more comfortable way to do that.

I've emntioned this before as far as sail trim, and 97's weather helm even with the main slacked luffing (and everthing in between) with the 160 there is always weather helm. I've used the sails to steer before but only short short distances since she'll never fall off.  Even with just the genny, she still tends to come up.
