General/Off-Topic / Ariel For Sale
May 30, 2016, 07:08:57 PM
Boat is still available. It is located on my lawn, a truck/trailer could back right up to it (that's how it got there, and hasn't moved since). Stands go with it.
Basically, its available to whoever is willing to come get it. If you have a trailer that can haul it, and you're willing to drive to Cromwell, CT its yours! If you're very interested please private message me and we'll make some arrangements to see it further.

The boat needs some repairs, soft spots on the deck. All rigging, mast, boom, sails, etc are included. It has an inboard engine. Hasn't been in the water for at least 6 years, not sure when it was last.

Thank you very much! I'm having trouble finding a source for mahogany in New England. I'm from Connecticut. I haven't found any suppliers through eBay yet. Maybe one of you knows a good one??

Jerry,

Thank you very much for all the information you've provided. It is all very helpful. I hope to get started on this project soon, but I'll take a little time to digest all the details first.

Hello Jerre!
I recently became owner of an Ariel. I just fell in love with this old beauty and I want to restore her to her former self. I want to do as much original nice quality wood and finishes as I can while rebuilding her. I need to replace the rudder, but I'm not sure where to start. Can you tell me what's important to know about the 6/4 quartersawn mahogany. I'm not even sure where to find this wood. Please let me know some hints about finding and working with this wood.
Thank you,
Miro.

Here are a few pictures of my baby. I got her on ebay and I knew that she needed a good home and a good restoration. Thanks for your warm welcome to the forum.
As for my plans...I was thinking first to make some kind of shelter for her. What are your thoughts on that? Is it neccessary? If so what's the best way to go about it?
