I sold #407 today. I want to thank everyone on this forum. This is one of the best boat owner's associations out there.

I am very impressed with this system for internalizing the outhaul. I am in the planning phase of upgrading mine. I would like to know how this system has fared over the years and whether any changes are advised.
Thank you

General/Off-Topic / Hatch and Laz gasket
May 31, 2012, 08:31:30 PM
I received the gasket set last week and feel very appreciative for the effort made to make these available. I would like to know what the present consensus is as to the best adhesive to use to attach them.
Thanks again,
Marcelo

My first and only contact with Gene was 2 yrs ago as a rookie member when I sent him a check for the class burgee. After 3 months passed and I still had not received the burgee I started to worry that my order had never reached its destination. Soon after, I received the burgee with a handwritten note from Gene apologizing profusely for having taken so long. The note reflected a very good and kind man.
My thoughts are with him and his family during this very difficult time.

Technical / Cabin Table
September 13, 2011, 09:42:30 PM
Thanks for all the input related to this table. I now get the idea. The original table as seen in A-109 seems to be a nightmare to store.
It definitely needs to be foldable and practical to store.

Mike,
What holds this table up? Where does it attach to? Is it removable?

I apologize for not having mentioned that the question pertains to an Ariel which of course does not have the compression post.
Thanks,

Technical / Cabin Table
September 12, 2011, 08:20:12 PM
I have been contemplating building a cabin table to allow my wife and I a place to eat when anchored or at the marina. I wonder if anyone knows whether Pearson provided a table as an extra accessory and would a appreciate a description or a photo.
Thanks,
Marcelo

My lazarette hatch gasket is in need of replacement. Is there a source for these?
Thanks,

Technical / jib track placement
August 23, 2010, 08:03:31 PM
The furler is working fine. My two main concerns are being able to adjust the trim as the clew moves forward and the fact that when the sail is furled the un-reinforced sections of the sail now have to bear the chafe and pressure of the wind. It seems more apparent as I think about this that the best for the health of the sail is to not use the furler as a reefer even though CDI claims you can reduce sail area upto 70% and still maintain a decent shape as long as you have a "padded" luff. There have been times when I have had to take in 1 reef in the main and keep the 135 but sooner or later I will find myself needing to take more in and this is what I am preparing for. I haven't tested her with the 135 completely furled and just 1 reef in the main but on my previous boat, a Pearson Vanguard, the main didn't have much drive and you found yourself being overpowered by the waves themselves.
