Title: How many Commanders
Post by: Jim Rester on December 01, 2004, 07:48:14 PM
Does anyone know in which years the Commander was made and how many  Commanders were made?

In some boats the hull # resets each year.  Did Pearson do that or did the Hull Numbers transcend calendar years.

I have Commander Hull # 80.  What was the highest hull number?

How many Ariels were made?

I am new and just trying to get a perspective.

Thanks

Jim
Title: PRODUCTION NUMBERS
Post by: Bill on December 01, 2004, 10:37:18 PM
Ariels and Commanders are numbered serially as are all production yachts.  The Ariel is numbered from 1 to 440.  The Commander is numbered from 1 to somewhere around 370. (The highest numbered Commander we have identified is 337.)  Ariel production began in 1962 and ended in 1966 or 1967.  The Commander was produced beginning about a year after the Ariel and its production is believed to have ended in the same year as the Ariel.
