Might I add tho I haven't finished reading the book....

Stan does a great job of explaining what an appealing pocket cruiser  is in his introductory assay of sailboats many of which have a longer waterlines than the A/Cs - none included.

Most of the book is fitted out with five or six, sometimes very touching essays, by owners including Ron Reil's history of his Sea Dart,  the same boat that Tristan Jones owned and wrote about.   Everybody agrees their best times were the days they were dedicated to their small cruisers.

The back of the book has a number of color shots,  many of the all important interiors,  and   a last piece by an english small boat designer,  Paul Gattside,  that I read standing in the book store,  on equipment and protocols.

Hope the second edition will have an index. :D
