Title: FS: TRAILER
Post by: willie on August 24, 2004, 05:52:44 PM
If anyone is interested, i could be persuaded to part with the thing. guess i ought to clean it up a little.....epoxy,primer,bottom paint. other than that, it was a new one, been backed into the river one time. it would be handy for anyone doing a restoration, save on yard fees.... I just don't see me hauling Ave Maria out anytime in the next few yrs....barring some unforeseen problem.

If ya want the specs, e me, and we could dicker. I might even rent it out, and the more i think about that, the better it sounds. That way i won't be kicking myself when it is time again that i need it! I'm sure if there's interest, we could work something out.

And I'm sure there's some photos of it on here somewhere. dig, dig, dig!!

In short: very adjustable, even the axles, 6 pads, tandem axle, electic brakes. Fits an ariel or commander pretty good. Would fit others i'm sure. Pulls great.
Thanks, Bill

If you have a dollar that you want to start with, say about $1000, I will dicker. If you said $2000. I would dicker. Where would you want to start? I would not even ask that you clean it up.

Well, did the dickering work out or is the trailer still for sale?

Ok, i've decided that i will sell, but it isn't cheap. I paid $3345 for it in December last year. I would take $2700. Might be willing to trade for some good Ariel sails and cash--like anyone would want to part with GOOD sails!

Any chance you could put some pictures on-line for us to see?  Next year I want to do some serious work on mine and I could put it in my back yard if I had a trailer -- of course, my neighbors would have a heart attack!

Ok, here's some photos. It's still for sale.
$2500 would work now, or i'd trade for a Honda Accord/Civic, or something i can afford to drive to the boat and back!! Sails? other gear? I'd like someone to use it.

Thanks! Nice looking trailer.    I have a friend who might like to share costs *if* it is rated to hold his boat, a 30 foot wooden boat that displaces 15,000 lbs.  Can you tell me what she's rated to hold?
Title: 15,000?? Whoa!

Well, it's got 2 6000 lb. axles under it, but i wouldn't want to put much more than an Ariel/Commander on it. 5200lbs. was just right. Think you better get one with 3 or more axles!

I was wondering if your trailer was still for sale? I just bought Ariel #382 in Redwood City, CA and I will need to haul it out to do some renovation and possibly move it to another location.
