Title: Snatch blocks
Post by: Lucky Dawg on September 09, 2020, 02:23:48 PM
I have a pair of snatch blocks for my genoa.  As pictured below, the upper attachment and shackle lanyard for the block on the right detached itself and went overboard.  Oddly, the inner pin and spring came to rest on the deck at the scupper.  I've temporarily secured the remaining mechanism with an acorn nut, but as you can see, the exposed pin doesn't insert as far in and isn't as secure.

Maybe you have an old Southcoast snatchblock hanging around in a bin with that hardware?  I'd be interest to see a photo of exactly what went overboard so maybe I can find those bits.  I can certainly look for a used one or buy new, but I like my old blocks.

Hi Kyle, I have a couple of these...stop by slip D26 next season and take a look at them and you can have one if you want.
