Title: How fast does the cockpit drain?

When substantially full, in about 13 seconds, according to my unplanned experiment. See video.

I'm glad I wasn't in a "modern" boat with a fin keel. That quartering wave strike would have spun the bow around, presenting the beam to the next oncoming wave.

An interesting fact is that if you have the outboard well open, the water will drain from the cockpit in record time!

I did. That explains the rapidity of the drain!
