Title: Samson Deep Six anchor line SALE
Post by: ebb on April 17, 2012, 04:47:45 PM
For you west coasters:
ReddenMarine up in Bellingham WA is having a sale on the above nylon 6-strand anchor line.
I bought a 600ft spool.

It's like that non-hockling easy stowing line that New England and Yale square braids are known for.
But Deep Six does not flatten on winches & windlasses like the square stuff,
yet is extremely flexible, stores flat in the locker,  good wet strength, resists shrinking.  Don't know about enlongation.
The 6-strand construction is said to give the line  good handing grip.
Has a higher strength rate than all Samson's other anchor lines: Gold-N-Braid, SuperStrong double braids, & ProSet3 strand.

Got an incredible deal,
I mean INCREDIBLE - Samson is discontinuing the rode because of poor sales!  That's what I was told.
Don't think poor sales translates to poor line.
Just that nobody on the web was/is talking about it.
Maybe people think 12 and 8 are better numbers than 6,  but size for size, on paper anyway,  DeepSix when I was looking, compared better in stated strength than all the other brands.
