I have been contemplating building a cabin table to allow my wife and I a place to eat when anchored or at the marina. I wonder if anyone knows whether Pearson provided a table as an extra accessory and would a appreciate a description or a photo.

I have one that I've not found the need to use yet. Don't know if it was an accessory or if someone made it along the way. If I remember correctly, it attaches to the compression post (Commander) and has an additional support for the aft end - so one person sits port, one starboard on either side of it. Measures roughly 20 x 30". I can take some pictures.
I apologize for not having mentioned that the question pertains to an Ariel which of course does not have the compression post.

I finally gave in and picked up a table and hardware from a CD 25 that was being parted out. I plan on trying to track down or find a suitable second piece of hardware so I can use it in the cockpit as well.

A slightly different style, but a better pic. Ben set me straight - I didn't know Ariels came with a table option. It appears that perhaps there are at least 2 versions? I wonder if any other forum members have Ariel tables?
Manual shows no standard or optional equipment list with a cabin or cockpit table.
Nor does the plan view of the interior (Ariel page 147 - Commander 149a) show a table or where it would be located for either boat.
A cabin table would be custom made and highly individual to the needs of the owner.
There are many styles from utility to mirror varnish. Make a statement, make yer own.

That's a real nice marina table on the blueline post #4.
Flatish table legs could slip into strap slots on the front of the settee, and be quite sturdy.
Leave room for one to sit at the table side with one or two on the other settee with the table's folded side up.
The table top could be made to tilt for adjustment or to fold flat for storage.
Maybe could hang on the V-berth door?
A well designed un-teak version cut from a single thin sheet of phenolic marine ply wouldn't have to be a very thick stack - and might be stored behind settee cushions in one or two pieces.
The traditional small boat challange is to get the table to double duty as the aisle filler between the settees for double bunking!
Or make it a shorter table, a cocktail size, that two could sit on the same settee with the table between them.
The kitchen counter could have a pull out, or a fold up - or down - that could also be used as a table of sorts.
Thanks for all the input related to this table. I now get the idea. The original table as seen in A-109 seems to be a nightmare to store.
It definitely needs to be foldable and practical to store.

Here's a picture of Ariel 109# factory listed optional dinette table. Has a hinged teak leg that attaches to a plate in the cabin sole and one end of the top mounts to two metal brackets in the vee berth's door frame. Matching Formica to the boat's other table surfaces, Irish Linen.

HMMMMM, does look a bit large to fit IN the door frame?
But, that makes me think that you could make a table that fits into the frame like a door.
Have take-apart hinges that allows the door/table when opened to be lifted off
and set up - like the table in A109 - but narrower and a bit longer.
A couple throw-bolts or a separate wooden bar across the cabinets at the doorway - and a foldown leg.
The body made of varnished Meranti with mahogany trim shaped in a low fid to keep stuff on the table.
For lightness, the door/table panel can be made with a single piece of 1/4" Meranti (yes!)
covered with 6oz woven glass in epoxy on both sides. Then, instead of varnish, painted a beige
color as in A109 and edged with mahogany. Hardly any weight at all!
One-fer-two........One less loose piece of furniture.:D
The above picture is the same table I have for my Ariel 214. It is large, heavy and was from the factory. It is wider and shorter than the door. I also have the original door.
I am having trouble logging into the site. I log in then get a message that you're not logged in and asked to log in again and again. It seems like I am in a loop.
Some pics of the (somwhat crappy) table I made with spare stuff in my garage. Just odds and ends pieces. One consideration is whether you want to avoid straight support legs so you or your dog won'tl trip on them when trying to get around the thing. I don't use it much, but its easy to set up and I think it will safely hold a 25 pound turkey if you're thinking about cooking one up for Thanksgiving.
