General condition This Pearson is in fair condition for its age. Partial deck re-coring was started and needs to be finished. She looks dry inside. A small amount of water in the bilge. There are no cushions. I am sure that this boat can be returned to the sea with some love and care. And a small investment.

Deck The deck has some soft spots and some of them have been recored port aft area of the deck needs to be finished. The toller handle will need to be replaced .

Standing rigging looks to be in fair condition needs tuning
Sails There are 3 sails onboard a main a jib and a genoa, all in fair condition all in sailbags.
Engine :there is no engine with this boat the well for the outboard is in good shape and the blocking plate is still there
Miscellaneous : All in all this is a medium scale project boat with classic lines and a great future in the right hands

I suppose your correct ,though it is more complete than the one I purchased. It seems it's gotten popular for people to purchase these old boats to salvage out. When I bought mine the only other person attempting to purchase was a scrap metal dealer, he made the mistake of telling the PO what his plan was and that nixted the sale, 2500 lbs lead at $.70/lb, aluminum at $.50/lb and the steel trailer $.10/LB. Said he would nearly triple his money over the asking price. It would be nice if the intent of this purchase is to repair and put back in the water

There's one here in town I've been looking at, and closed a deal on.
Looked at it several times and for some reason it just didn't 'excite' me. I've always liked Ariels, and liked every one I'd seen in person or online, but there was just something I didn't like about this one. Finally spent some time on her and realized that what I didn't like about it was that it was completely white, interior and exterior and I've always hated all white boats. (too modern looking, makes me think of macgregors) I'd much rather have cheap woodgrain formica than a pure white interior. Once I visualized some veneer on the bulkheads and other normally wood surface I liked her.
If that one were closer, or even in the water I'd have bought it, total cost of purchase and sailing it home, would be about the same as I'm paying for this one delivered to my back yard. advantage of this one is that it's on a trailer (old beat to crap trailer in need of rebuild, but still a trailer!)

He's planning to drop her off this weekend.
It will be a new experience for me, having a boat in the back yard and not having to make a 50+ mile one way trip to work on her. I may have to jump in the truck and drive around a while before I work on her just so it feels right.
