Title: Ariel in Maryland
Post by: bill@ariel231 on April 30, 2007, 04:06:19 PM
I stumbled on a flyer for a nice looking Ariel in Maryland with a restored Atomic 4, refrigerator, CDI furler with a google search. she's probably sold a couple years ago, but it's amazing what you stumble on with a google search. The are some nice enhancements in the photo's attached to the pdf:

Blue Moon looks like a steal to me !!  I wish I could afford to be one of the "Two-Boat" people.  Talk about bells and whistles !!

That's what I thought too.  But nobody was willing to pay over $1800. for the boat for some reason.

The db shows Blue Moon as A-209 located somewhere in the Cheasapeak Bay Area.  We never got a skipper name or address when he registered on the board in Sept 2012.  Now we know it's Tom Fisher, 410-221-8432 (w), 410-714-2882(c), fisher at hpl dot umces dot edu.  Hopefully, we get the new skipper's name and contact.

With 209 the A-4 was replaced and rebuilt several times.  Moyer supplied the last one and then the head and manifold was replaced after that.  But the problem all along was, apparently, that the waterlift and exhaust system was piped wrong and water was always getting into the engine;  the sparkplugs were frequently shorted with water, etc.
