Can anybody give me idea how the storage box on the floor
was connected and what was stored in it.

What storage box on what floor???? I see nothing in the cabin plan for the Ariel (see appendix in the manual) about a "storage box."

Let me re phrase that. I have two storage bins built into the floor with covers
the covers are part of the floor they are roughly eight inches by four, was this part of the plan or is this a customization by the previous owner of my boat.

The main cabin sole (floor) has two access hatches to the bilge, probably 8x12 inches in size, if I remember correctly.
